  • Fantastic Fishguard

    Mummy and I took Rockstar to Fishguard for one night. It was a great adventure.

    Learning Opportunities:

    • Reading about the French Invasion
    • Studying the mosiacs
    • Discussing flags
    • Talking about the different stones and rocks on the beach
    • Looking for wildlife inthe seaweed
    • Discussing how far away different places are and getting a better understanding of the world as one place.
    • Following the Art Afoot Sculpture trail and talking about the different sculptures and what they represent.
    • Talking about Welsh history and noticing the traditional clothing

  • A Slithering Surprise

    Whilst camping at Fishguard this weekend I saw my first ever slow worm.

    It was making its way across our path and I watched it disappear into the undergrowth.

    I expected slow worms to be bigger. It was really cute, even though it hissed at me.

    Also on our walk we saw a family of mallards and there was a grey heron in the sea. This is unusual because herons hunt in fresh water not salt water. However, where he was, was right by where a river entered the sea.

  • Gardening

    I planted out the rest of the flowers that I grew from seed earlier this year.

    Afterwards I scattered my remaining seeds over the bare soil to fill any gaps.

  • Handwriting practice

    This morning I’ve been practicing my handwriting by copying the writing on the white board.

    I’m already pretty good at my uppercase letters so today we focused on lowercase letters.

  • Plant Dewi Allotment, Cooking & Art Session

    Today we had another session at the community allotment.

    There were three activities on today:

    • Cooking pizza and crumble
      • I helped make the pizza dough, and prepared some chopped greens which I sprinkled on top.
    • Art
      • using a natural ink and leaves to make our own prints which we tied onto a twig.
    • Gardening
      • the wheat we planted on a previous visit is growing really well

  • Magnificent Moth

    A pretty white moth landed on our lounge window. I quickly got my magnifiying glass so I could have a closer look at it’s underneath.

    I counted six legs, mummy thought they only had four, silly mummy.

  • Khan Academy

    I am allowed to use my tablet every day. I watch some fun things on You Tube Kids, and I also play games and do activities on the Khan Academy app. This is an educational app that teaches maths, english and lots of other useful things.

  • Recent arts and crafts

    I do arts and crafts every day. Here’s some of my latest creations. Some were made at home and others at the Plant Dewi group I attend.

  • Organ

    I have a music box with various instruments including a harmonic, tambourine, shakers, recorders, fife and a tin whistle.

    Today, I spent some time playing on the family electronic organ. Mummy recorded it but we can’t upload videos onto this blog.

  • First book

    We have two parrots, an African Grey called Lenny and an eclectus parrot called Rosie. Today, I decided to create a book about how they met.

    I had no help, I used the die cutting machine to cut out two parrot shapes, which I coloured in. I hand drew from memory the other two pictures. I held my book together using washi tape with a bird pattern.

    The story shows Rosie sitting on a branch, then Lenny flew in and said hello. They became friends and flew away together.
