We were in the city of Middelburg for Kings Day which is a huge celebration in the Netherlands. Everything and everyone gets decorated in the brightest orange and huge crowds visit the cities to celebrate with live music.

It is a national holiday to celebrate the King’s birthday. Orange is associated with the Dutch monarchy so that is why everything goes orange. Currently Kings Day is 27th April but it changes with the monarch. When the reigning monarch is a Queen, it becomes Queens Day for her reign.
