Foreign supermarkets

You are not allowed to take certain foods like milk, fruit, meat etc from the UK into the European Union (the EU).

We went to a supermarket in Belgium and they had machines that disperse fresh orange juice (or pomegranate juice) into bottles. I overfilled ours and made a mess.

Another difference to UK supermarkets is that you can’t buy ready sliced bread! Instead, you choose your loaf and if you want it sliced there is a machine that does it for you.

One of the supermarkets in the Netherlands keeps all its milk products in it‘s own chilled room inside the main supermarket!
