We took my friend to Folly Farm today.

We watched the lions being hand fed, they make a really loud low growl, but looked so soft and cuddly. I learnt that an adult lion can eat up to 18kg of meat at a time, taking a few meals from a kill over a 2-3 day period.

We spent lots of time playing in the outdoor playgrounds making up games in the castle and the big ship.

We also spent a while watching the pelicans. I was surprised they were able to preen their feathers with their huge beaks.

We went in the venom shed and I was super excited to see a Cobra skull. I’ve been learning about snakes recently. it was cool to see the fangs. We did a post about snakes last month: https://abisadventures.blog/2026/02/13/plantasia-snakes/
