I made shortbread biscuits. Mummy read the recipe and I measured and mixed everything.
Ingredients:
- 250g softened butter
- 140g caster sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla essence
- 300g plain flour
Method:
- Mix the butter & sugar in a bowl with a wooden spoon.
- Next add the egg yolk & vanilla essence. Mix together.
- Soft over the flour (in 100g batches) mixing well after each addition.
- Squash the dough together into a ball and leave in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
- Roll out dough and cut into shapes
- Bake on tray lined with grease proof paper for 10-12 minutes.
- Allow to cool on wire rack then decorate.

I used honey and sprinkles to decorate some of the biscuits as we didn’t have any icing pens.
I now have my own set of rubber gloves so I can wash up too.
