Things Learnt:
- dungeons are not very nice places, they are cold, dark and smelly.
- bad people were put in dungeons as a punishment
- the royal families worn very pretty clothes, the queen and princesses worn long dresses with lots of jewels
- stocks are wooden things that naughty people were put in. Once locked in the stocks, other people would through rotten food at the naughty person.
- the reason why stocks are called stocks is because they were used to police market traders during medieval times. Some traders were sneeky. They would sell big bags of food like grain or apples, but would put lots of rotten ones at the bottom and a few good ones on top to trick people. Once caught, the traders were locked in the stocks and the tricked customers could through their bad stock at them.
- castles have narrow slits for windows so they could fire arrows at anyone who was attacking them.
